Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT)
Airlines and Terminals
(Tokyo, Japan)
Serving the expansive Greater Tokyo Area, Narita International Airport (NRT) is currently home to more than 60 different airlines.
Based in the outlying Narita / Shibayama area, the airport handles a sizeable chunk of Japan's international air traffic whilst also functioning as an important connection hub for flights between the Americas and Asia. It comfortably sits amongst the world's top ten busiest airports, with passenger numbers predicted to soon rise to more than 40 million per annum.
A new terminal is currently under construction for budget airlines. This Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCC) will be home to both Jetstar and AirAsia, and is expected to be completed in 2015, at the cost of some JPY20 billion.
